16) CREATE S.M.A.R.T. GOALS
You will never get to where you’re going, if you don’t know where you are going.
Setting goals is important. Setting S.M.A.R.T. goals is crucial.
Specific: Be specific. General: I want to make lots of money. Specific: I will double my monthly salary.
Measurable: Measure and assess your progress; daily/weekly/monthly. Are you on track? If not, what do you have to do/change/add to be on track?
Attainable: Develop your attitude, abilities, skills to ensure your goals are attainable. Be creative. Look for opportunities.
Realistic: Are you able and willing to accomplish your goal. Setting a goal that is too high can be detrimental if you let fear take over and if you allow self-doubt to creep in. On the other hand, setting a goal ‘just beyond’ can motivate you to reach for and attain more. It can be exhilarating if you focus on enjoying the process.
Timely: Set a time limit and break time up. If your goal is to be met in a year, ask yourself where you must be on a daily/weekly/monthly basis in order for you to accomplish your goal by the designated time.
