The main ingredient in Ningxia Red is wolfberry – Lycium barbarum – grown & harvested organically in the province of Ningxia.  More specifically, it comes from Ningji Yi Hao County where the best berries are documented to grow.  No fertilizers or pesticides have been used, nor sulfur, no dyes nor irradi-ation. There are no heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium) in Ningxia wolfberries

The Yellow River flood plain, where the Ningxia wolfberry crop is concentrated, derives its water from the Himalayan Mountains.  As the water flows through the mountain snowpack and lower Himalayan foothills, it becomes charged with an unprecedented assortment of minerals and organic nutrients.  By the time it reaches the Ningxia province, it is mineral-rich, super fertile silt water, the likes of which is found nowhere else on earth.

Ningxia Red contains the pureed juices of Wolfberry, Pomegranate, Blueberries, & Plum, cherry, Aronia, plus the essential oils of Orange, Yuzu, Lemon and Tangerine. This synergistic combination makes for a more superior juice than consuming each individually.

Ningxia wolfberries contain ellagic acid and polyphenols in the highest of any food tested. The anti-cancer & detoxifying properties of ellagic acid are well researched. In 1998, Korean researchers discovered special compounds, pyrroles and cerobrosides, in wolfberries that afford powerful protection for the liver, against chemical-induced and hepatic damage.

Pomegranate represented life & regeneration in ancient Greece.  In Buddhism, it is one of three blessed fruits.  The National Institute of Cancer has reported on “the extraordinary medicinal properties of the tree, an idea that dates to Biblical times & which has oddly been overlooked by Western medicine.” Pomegranate has 3X the antioxidant activity of green tea or red wine.  It reduces cholesterol by 40%.

Blueberry juice is rich in proanthocyanidins.  Tufts University studies have shown that it protects blood cells against free radical oxidation and slows brain aging. Studies at Mainz University show that it protects cell DNA.

Cherry
juice is rich in quercetin, a flavonoid which has anti-carcinogenic properties, and can help prevent heart disease to a great extent.  Cherries are a rich source of anthocyanins, a type of plant phytochemcals which have great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.  If you are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, muscle pain, or gout, eating cherries will help you immensely.  Amygdalin, a phenolic acid found in them, can help prevent cancer.  They contain boron which is good for bones.  They are rich in vitamin C, great for immune support.

Aronia berries contains a high concentration of flavonoids and antioxidants.  Berries are full of flavonnois, trace minerals bd phenolic phytochemicals, inc. anthocyanins (ACN), of which it contains one of the highest of any known plant (several times higher than cranberry juice) in asingle research by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, 100 foods were screened for ACNs and just 24 were found to include them.  The study discovered aronia berries included 2,147 mg of ACN per serving; much more than any other food screened and four times a lot more than cultivated blueberries.  Research indicated the compounds in the aronia berry might help fend off cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, ulcer, liver disease, joint pain, eye inflammation, allergies, and also the most popular cold and also flu.  They might also assist in improving memory, sluggish aging pprocess, and also improve overall well-being.  The aronia berry doesn't have identified negative effects.
