IT’S NOT YOUR GRANDMA’S FISH OIL!
If you ever were given a teaspoon of cod liver oil as a child, you might be reluctant to take fish oil capsules because of the taste.  But modern science and improved technology have brought fish oil supplementation a long way. All of the impressive omega-3 research has flooded the market with fish-oil products.  However, they are far from alike.

FOUR KEY FACTORS YOU SHOULD EVALUATE:
1) Purity   2) Freshness   3) Absorption   4)  Compliance

These four criteria turn this long-time food into a safe and powerful health aid.  Evaluating your fish oil product with these in mind will help you select a product that is pure, easily absorbed bioactive, and pleasant to take frequently. [OMEGA BLUE MEETS THESE STANDARDS!]

PURITY
Because of worldwide industrial pollution, it is vital that your fish oil is pure.  Only consider fish-oil that is heavy metal (mercury and lead), PCB and dioxin free. Purity starts with the right fish caught at the right place.  The smaller oily fishes, mackerel, sardines, and anchovies, provide rich stores of omega oils.  These fish are harvested in pristine ocean waters, so they naturally contain lower levels of contaminants.

Fish-oil further purified with a gentle refining process that removes contaminants like mercury or lead without concentrating the fish flavor, as molecular distillation often does, is preferred.  This state –of-the-art proprietary purification process produces a product that exceeds all industry requirements for purity.

COMPLIANCE
There are only two reasons why people don’t get results with quality omega-3’s.  They don’t take enough or they don’t take it long enough.  The number one reason why people stop taking fish oil or don’t take it often enough is the fishy aftertaste.

An enteric-coat solves this in two ways.  First, it releases in the intestines which keeps the fishy aftertaste at a minimum.  Plus it triples absorption providing a therapeutic effect with smaller doses.

FRESHNESS
Fish must be handled carefully and prepared quickly to minimize initial oxidative damage.  When looking for an Omega product enhanced with essential oils demand 100% pure therapeutic-grade oils, carefully grown and prepared to deliver the maximum bioactivity, energy and chemical profile of the living plant.  These premium and potent oils are more costly than the synthetic and diluted oils used in most store brand cosmetic and health products, but for optimal safety, efficacy and results, only 100% pure therapeutic-grade oils will do.

When researching which fish-oil product to take, look for one strengthened with the following pure essential oils.  These oils (included in the Young Living Omega Blue supplement) not only protect the fish-oil during encapsulation and in the bottle, they also protect it in your body vast improving stability by up to ten times:

 CLOVE
has a tremendous single ORAC value as an antioxidant: .>300,000 per oz.  A study published in the Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism showed that adding eugenol, found in clove essential oil, to cold liver oil lowered inflammation by an additional 30% .

LEMONGRASS
not only offers additional anti-inflammatory properties but enhances the heart-protective effects of fish oil by lowering serum cholesterol levels.

MYRRH
was treasured by prophets and pharaohs alike.  It has the dual antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that enrich and enhance a fish oil formula.

BLUE (GERMAN) CHAMOMILE
is known for potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.  A fish-oil product with Blue chamomile will have a distinct green-blue tint.

ABSORPTION
The next key is making sure as many omega-3’s make it into your system as possible.  Research shows that fish oil delivered precisely to the intestines is absorbed up to three times better than fish oil released in the stomach.   Fish oil in an enteric-coated capsule releases the oil directly into the gastrointestinal tract.

The US Institute of Medicine recently established Adequate Intake (AI) levels for omega-3 fatty acids—a minimum of 1600 mg/day for adult women.  The American Heart Association recommends people with cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol and high triglycerides routinely take double that amount.  Physicians recommend higher doses for those with arthritis and depression.

Look for fish oil that contains natural ratios of two key omega-3s (EPA and DHA).  EPA should represent about 14-18 percent of fish oil and DHA between 8-12%.  Higher ratios can indicate the fish oil may have undergone further processing, which can increase rancidity and concentrate fishy flavor.

In addition to meeting all standards for a truly superb fish oil product, Omega Blue has an enteric coated capsule that time releases in the intestines instead of the stomach to keep the fishy aftertaste at a minimum.  This makes it easier to keep taking Omega Blue long enough to see results.  The enteric coating also triples absorption which means you get a higher dose of Omega-3’s with each serving.
